Established in 1942 along the grounds of “The Last Frontier Hotel” The Little Church of the West is said to be modeled after a California mining church, has an exterior of cedar and an interior of California red wood and looks much the same as when it was built. The four Victorian lamps that light the chapel are believed to be form 19th century rail road cars. The church’s quaint and rustic charm has provided the prefect romantic wedding backdrop. The Little Church of the West is listed on the National register of historic places because it has retained the original integrity.
